Clifton Hampden Surgery is a small friendly rural dispensing practice with 3,500 patients. We currently employ 3 Nurses who all share the duties within the surgery.
We offer a varied Nursing role, ideally the successful candidate would have an interest in Diabetes. However we offer a role that covers all aspects of clinical nursing, including support with chronic disease management. We are a registered Yellow Fever centre and offer a full range of Travel Vaccinations to our patients and patients coming from other surgeries.
You would be expected to do phlebotomy, dressings, childhood vaccinations, ECG’s, ABMP and smoking cessation. Etc Training given.

We are looking for someone who is IT literate and experienced in all aspects of treatment room nursing, to include cervical smears, health promotion, childhood immunisations, and travel advice. Experience of chronic disease management (in particular, diabetes) would be preferred.

The main responsibilities/duties of this role are:-
- Read Coding patient information into the Practice’s clinical System
- Monitoring QOF and Enhanced Service targets
- Updating templates and protocols
- Maintaining Clinical systems
- Liaising with PCT and Emis regarding system issues and upgrades
- Running Clinical Searches
This post would be ideally suited to someone who had previous summarising or read coding experience, whether in a clinical or administrative post, together with knowledge of EMIS IT systems and functions.
Good verbal and written skills along with a flexible approach will be an advantage in this role.
