Subject: Exciting Offer: NHS TVWLA Health Coaching Train-the-Trainer Programme cohort 2, 23.3.16 & 10.05.16, Newbury - open for applications. Sent on behalf of Alison Jennings and Maggie Woods

Re-launched to: TVWLA Thames Valley (TV) CCG Directors of Nursing, Pharmacy Leads, Leadership Leads and HRDs, and TV LMC

Invitation extended to: TVWLA Wessex CCG Directors of Nursing, Pharmacy Leads, Leadership Leads and HRDs, and Wessex LMC

Dear colleague

Further to Alison’s email of 8.12.15 (below) and a further one from me on 18.12.15, we have recognised that the timing for the next cohort of our Health Coaching Train-the-Trainer programme has not worked with winter pressures and the enormous challenges in primary care.  So, we have postponed the programme to start in March and are, therefore, re-launching it for applications and extending the invitation to Wessex also.  The dates for the programme are now 23 March 2016 and 10th May in Newbury (venue tbc).  Those who previously applied have already been contacted regarding the date change.

Please consider this offer and potentially identify a project/ target area/ group of patients and an individual to be trained from your practice or organisation.  We would particularly welcome applications from staff working in Primary Care, including Practice Nurses, Pharmacists and General Practitioners.  You may want to link this to any change initiatives you or your organisation is working on, such as integration and service transformation projects.  Please see the email below and the attached flyer and application form for more details.  We kindly ask that you share this information widely through your networks.  TVWLA will fund the cost of the training but will not fund any backfill, travel or accommodation expenses.

Please submit completed applications to localevents@tvwleadershipacademy.nhs.uk by 12th February 2016.  If you submit an application please hold the programme dates in your diary.  Decisions regarding applications will be notified as soon as possible after this date.

If you require further information regarding the programme please contact:

Dear Colleague

I am writing to you with information regarding our new Health Coaching Train-the-Trainer programme.

As you are probably there is a growing wealth of the evidence for using a health coaching approach particularly with patients who have the following conditions: diabetes, asthma, smoking cessation, obesity, cardiovascular disease, mental health and medication adherence.  Health coaching has also been identified as an effective intervention in reviews of self-care support from both the Kings Fund and Health Foundation.

TVWLA are running a two day programme for individuals to train to deliver health coaching training to other staff in their practice or organisation.  Please see attached flyer for detailed programme information.  The dates for the programme are 23 February and 23 March 2016 at Hawkwell House Hotel Oxford.  Please submit completed applications to localevents@tvwleadershipacademy.nhs.uk by Thursday 24th  December 2015.  If you submit an application please hold the programme dates in your diary.  Decisions regarding applications will be notified as soon as possible after this date.
