Message from Dr Buttar, Chair of Oxfordshire LMC

Follow up to my LMC Roadshow email of 9/1/17 (see below).
Please see the message below from Prit Buttar, Chair of Oxfordshire LMC.
The Thames Valley LMCs will be visited by Gavin Ralston, a member of the GPC executive, on 7/2/17 at 7.30pm, at the Holiday Inn, Handycross High Wycombe
This is an opportunity for front-line GPs to meet a senior figure in GPC and question him about what action GPC is taking to help the profession.
It has long been the position of Oxfordshire LMC that the fundamental problem faced by the profession is the great - and growing - gap between funding for core services and the demand for those services. We believe that until and unless that is addressed, all other initiatives, whether they are STPs, GPFV, UPGP etc, will ultimately fail to protect the profession from further damage. It is questionable whether GPC has done enough to put pressure upon the government to remedy this mismatch, and I urge you to make time to attend this meeting, and to ask appropriate questions to hold the executive to account.
Attendance at this meeting can be added to your appraisal folder.
